Comic Con launches 2020 Virtual Version
No Lines at Hall H, Commute to San Diego or Lotteries

Comic Con has a historical first for it's fifty year run with it's 2020 free to attend iteration. The fan favorite has chosen the Sched platform for it's free ticketing and You Tube from among the ever increasing virtual broadcast options for panels.
Fans and industry alike have taken note of the ease of consuming the curated content without the trek to San Diego or the rabid lottery based system for obtaining in person attendance for non industry enthusiasts.
The one step registration and schedule can be downloaded to your preferred calendar to make color coding and tracking the easiest it's ever been for those who have gone through the multi-layered process in past years.
The fandom has been vocal in wondering if any of the new processes will be retained for upcoming editions post pandemic. The historic 2020 convention runs for five days from Thursday July 22nd to Sunday July 26th.

DGA Releases Latest Episodic TV Directors Numbers:
Women of Color Still Directing at Half the Rate of Male Counterparts
Despite numerous well publicized inclusion programs and network and studio led initiatives aimed toward gender parity and increasing people of color directing episodic television, the latest DGA numbers paint a clear picture.

The DGA report released during Black History month 2021 announced that African American women directed 5.2% of the 4,300 episodes produced in the 2019-20 season, while African American men directed more than twice as many at 12.5%.
The trend continued across demographics for women of color who largely directed only half as many episodes as their male counterparts.
The findings highlight the ongoing challenges at the intersection of race, gender and equal opportunity in spite of the many well celebrated pipeline programs that have been implemented to address the disparities in access.
